Wedding Places

Italy is the wedding place among all of the wedding places in the world!

For a country that is separated from the rest of Europe by the Alps and from all the other countries by the Mediterranean and Adriatic seas you would wonder who would ever take the time and trouble of going through to get over there. Even Hannibal had the most difficult time crossing the Alps and yet his persistence won him several battles against the Romans – but why did he do it? Was it only his hate for the Romans?

It is precisely its ability to trade with everyone through its sea ports and its strategic position as the center of the Mediterranean Sea that made Italy a world trade and eventually a cultural center for so long. The Romans and others claimed mare nostrum, the "Mediterranean sea belongs to us"!.

For the longest time,  while being separated from everyone else geographically Italy still remained a favorite place and country to invade. Italy stands out in the annals of past history because the last three millennia seems to have all been related somehow to this country – even China and the Far East! Just think of Marco Polo and his travels there and the trade the ensued then and some time after.

A wedding place is where two people unite in marriage and indeed many treaties of the past were agreed upon in this beautiful country and came about because of marriages.

Innumerable armies of ages past came and conquered, but the soldiers of the armies that invaded Italy would not leave and some ended up getting married to the local village girls because they loved the people and the culture so much.

There are many places where to marry in Italy and today the country still remains a favorite wedding destination and a joy forever that never seems to pass into nothingness.
