Orthodox Wedding Ceremony

An Orthodox wedding ceremony is available in only two locations in Italy and one of them is Venice and the other is Florence.

The Orthodox wedding ceremony in Venice takes place in the Greek Orthodox church and you will need to be married civilly prior to the ceremony taking place as the priest can only perform a blessing.

Specific religious requirements must be completed prior to the priest's approval. The church is Byzantine and very beautiful with icons and magnificent altar piece dating hundreds of years. It holds about 50 comfortably and can be reached via gondola by the bride and wedding party. It is in the historical center of the city of Venice.

The other location where you can be married with an Orthodox ceremony is Florence. The church there is of the Russian Orthodox tradition.
