Farm Tours
Up to the 1960’s almost everyone seemed to live and work on a farm in Italy – there was no time for farm tours! The most popular TV program during the 1960’s was for farmers many of which could not even read or write. Today things are quite different and only a fraction of the population can say they are farmers.
Nonetheless the Italian farmers have always been there and so have the farm products and over the years the sophistication in food production has increased dramatically including the demand for organic foods.
Some of the greatest farm tours are in Italy and France because the Italian and French palates have the highest expectations.
Farm tours in Italy are organize by regions and will give you the opportunity to meet the land owners and farmers all of whom will share with you personally what makes their farms and products so unique.
Tasting goes along with the explaining.
Another unique opportunity while visiting the farms is the history behind the architecture and farming traditions in that area. Most of the farms are run from ancient structures that may have been modernized on the inside, but still remain the same on the outside.
Each region of Italy will have something new to show you.
