Wedding Season
The main Wedding Season in Italy is from mid May to late October.
All of the Italian wedding seasons have something to offer those that are planning a wedding abroad, but the months of June and September are the busiest and most crowded times of the year.
To select the right season for getting married in Italy you may want to check with your wedding planner to find out what the outside temperatures will be for that part of Italy at the time of year that you are considering for your destination wedding.
Also there are also seasonal foods and traditional festivals in each Italian region and town and these will affect not only how crowded the areas and venues will be but also what interesting events may be available for you to visit or participate in.
Many music festivals occur all over Italy and there are also Medieval and Renaissance festivals where you fill find everyone in the town dressed in the clothing of that time and the villagers will also be selling products made during the Middle Ages and Renaissance.
In some towns like Spello in Umbria for one whole week all the streets of the town are lined with detailed floral arrangements. In almost all of the Italian regions local wine festivals occur regularly especially in the Autumn and in others open markets appear with seasonal truffles and mushrooms and in still others you can taste wild asparagus in the Spring.
The Spring is also the time of year when the puntarelle appear on the market place and in the Roman restaurants. Puntarelle are the “pointed” inside parts hearts of a kind of European chicory.
Every wedding season in Italy has some unique surprises.
