Civil Wedding Venice Italy - June 27th, 2006

We want to share with you our experiences in Venice.
Our flight arrived about 4 hours late into Venice on the 26th, so we had little time to see the sights. We boarded the ship around 4 pm and spent the balance of the evening resting and dining.
We awoke early on Wedding Day. Trish had an 8 am hair appointment. We were to meet Tamara at 8:45 near the ship in anticipation of our 10 am appointment with the US Consulate
Trish's appointment went a bit long so we weren't able to meet Tamara until after 9:30! Fortunately, we were able to catch a water taxi to the Consulate located quite some distance away at the airport. We were able to quickly obtain the Nulla Osta and were on our way by 11 to the Wedding Hall via water taxi. The taxi let us out some distance from the Wedding Hall so Trish and I and Tamara were able to walk through the streets of Venice. The hundreds - if not thousands - of residents and tourists were in awe of Trish! She looked so beautiful! People gazed, whispered to one another, spoke words of encouragement, etc. as we walked.
We stopped by the flower shop and picked up a most exquisite bouquet of white roses. After pictures with the florist, we walked a bit and went into a quaint restaurant/pastry shop for a welcomed cold drink (strawberry belini). We then proceeded to the Wedding Hall where we met the photographer.
We took several pre-ceremony pictures and, at about 11:45, proceeded into the Wedding Hall. We met with the official, delivered our paperwork, set up our CDs, and prepared for the ceremony. Our 12:00 pm ceremony was just that! Precisely when Tamara translated "...at noon on this 27th day of June, 2006....", the noon bells in San Marcos Square began to toll! ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!
The ceremony was most memorable. We much enjoyed the Italian articles (43, 44 and 47) that were read in Italian then translated by Tamara. At the prescribed time for our vows, our CD was turned on to the exquisite voices of Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion's "The Wedding Prayer" - the PERFECT song for Trish and me! We exchanged our self-written vows (Trish's were incredibly touching) and Tamara was magnificent in her readings from The Prophet and Corinthians. Kissing the bride was the happy culmination of an incredible year, and the beginning a lifetime of love and devotion.
We departed the Wedding Hall for a brief walk to our waiting gondola ride. What an experience! MANY people believed Trish to be "royalty," a "princess," because of a) her shear beauty, b) the presence of the photographer and c) the belief that I was her bodyguard (dark suite, sunglasses). As we tell everyone - Trish was the Queen of Venice. And she was!!!!!!!!
Our 30-minute gondola ride was far too short! The sidewalks and bridges lining the many canals were full of admiring and inquisitive tourists and Venetians. We were photographed, offered words of encouragement (in several languages), given (and gave) many thumbs-up, and just generally became the center of attention as we quietly floated along the beautiful canals with the myriad shops and markets. Surprisingly, we did not see ONE other wedding party the entire day. It was truly OUR day.
The photographer rode with us and took many photos along the canals - both serious and fun! The photographer was obviously experienced in Venice weddings, and was both fun and interesting. He was quite willing to take some pictures that we wanted, along with those that he considers "standard."
We departed the gondola ride for San Marcos Square where additional photos were taken. After the photographer departed and upon Tamara's insistence, we lunched. What a fabulous ending to this most enjoyable day! Lunch was exquisite! The service was great. And the ambiance was unsurpassed. We were greeted warmly by two other couples from the States, one of which was on our cruise and who later told us she believed Trish to be "royalty," at least until she saw the bouquet of roses and figured out we were newlyweds!
As you can tell, we had a wonderful experience in Venice. We sincerely appreciate your efforts in making June 27th, 2006, one we will never forget. You arranged, coordinated, and executed a lot of activities in a short period of time. We are so grateful.
Tamara was fun to be with and graciously offered to take photos with our camera - and she did a very good job. She obviously knew her way around Venice as evidenced by the warm reception we received at the Consulate, flower shop, and Wedding Hall.
Laura, our communications with you were very good and you've delivered as promised. We found you accommodating and accessible. We would highly recommend you to others.
Thanks again for being such an important part of making our wedding so fabulous and memorable.

Thank you so much for your well wishes. We would have responded sooner but we got in pretty late on Tuesday night.
We'd like to personally thank you and Tamara for such a wonderful and beautiful ceremony. The ceremony and service was wonderful and we absolutely loved the location. And the weather was perfect! Everything was as we expected and more! It was such a carefree and relaxing day. Our photographer, Wladi, provided us with some memorable moments of our special day. We are so happy with how the pictures turned out. He does a great job capturing the moment. We can't pick out our favorite...there are just so many! Tamara was great, too! She was very helpful in guiding us on our journey. We enjoyed her company and she made everything seem simple. The flowers were beautiful. Dinner at Antico Martini was really nice. We really enjoyed the menu and the atmosphere was lovely. It was a great way to end of the day.

We're back home and suffering a little from jet lag, but that is in no comparison of how much fun we had in Italy. Please feel free to use me and Rommel as references. We were delighted to work with someone like you--you were so timely with your responses to our million of questions, and we felt comfortable putting all our faith in you in making our wedding a reality.
Also, I should not dismiss giving accolades to Tamara. She was simply amazing! She really helped keep the on-site coordinating and government liaisoning at a stress free level. Rommel and I are so grateful to have met Tamara and have her assist us on our upcoming nuptial as well as the day itself. We just got home last night from our trip. After the cruise with our families, Jeff and I spent an additional week in Italy. We had a fabulous time!
Everything about our wedding in Venice was absolutely wonderful. We could not have dreamed of a more perfect experience. You really helped make the entire process flawless and worry-free. We are still talking about how easy it was to plan this destination wedding through you and your company. Tamara was so great. She really went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. We really enjoyed our time with her. All the other providers were also wonderful. The restaurant, Antico Martini, turned out to be very nice as well. We had a fabulous meal and the service was excellent.
Initially, I was very nervous about planning a destination wedding over the internet by email. However, you were always so prompt at answering my questions, offering suggestions, and just helping out in any way you could.
