Madonna di Campiglio

Madonna di Campiglio is an elegant, old town nestled between Brenta Dolomites and glaciers of Adamello valleys. Today is the top choice ski resort of Italy and one of the most important destination in the Alps, attracting both Italians both people from all around the world.
The town, whose history was largely influenced by its extraordinary alpine identity, has always fascinated travelers and famous figures, until it turned into the famous and fashionable destination it is today.
In 1886 Franz Joseph Österreicher chose Campiglio as the holiday resort for the Habsburg family and the Empress Sissi.
The beautiful landscape and the abundant snowfalls of this resort contribute to make Campiglio a leading world winter resort, renowned for its spectacular ski runs and natural beauty.

The variety of its mountain surroundings mean that in winter it is possible to ski over countless kilometres of runs, up to an altitude of 2600 metres and with different degrees of difficulty…that means, you can set out from the centre of the town and return there without ever removing your skis!
Madonna di Campiglio is famous for its high life, but just a short way out of town you will find a round of lakes, valleys, streams, malghe (alpine shepherds’ huts) and refuges.

The fifty thousand hectares of the Adamello-Brenta Natural Park, together with four hundred and fifty km of mountain paths offer incredible opportunities for those wishing to walk or mountain bike through the cool fir woods and enchanting large forests.
