Venue in Desenzano del Garda
Desenzano Castle is a centuries-old fortress that dominates the south of Lake Garda. The castle, owned by the Fondazione Ugo Da Como, has been a National Monument since 1912. The Castle, locally known as the “Rocca”, stands on the summit of one of the hills in the Morenic Amphitheatre dominating the southern side of Lake Garda. The southern slope of this hill shelters the historical center of Lonato, the limits of which, today, border the Padana lowlands.
The fortification may be considered one of the most important in Lombardy. Its irregular and vaguely irregular form reveals a central structure almost 180 meters in length and approximately 45 meters in width. It is composed of two structures at different levels: the so-called Rocca in the upper part and, lower down, what is called the General Quarters. Despite the long domination by the Visconti and Scaligeri families, the walled embankment, built in large morenic rocks, carries Guelph merlons.
This imposing structure is softened by green open spaces and olive trees so typical of Lake Garda. In the main quarter there you’ll find a large elegant pavilion which is used for events, 350 square meters it’s spacious enough for most celebrations.
With an atmosphere full of history, the Castle is a prestigious location for companies and a stunning setting for wedding receptions, with the possibility of your civil wedding ceremony on site as well. There are two conference rooms which can accommodate presentations and meetings, and you can also arrange exclusive visits to the museum of Senator Ugo Da Como.
