Civil Wedding in Veneto

We arrived back from our wedding and honeymoon yesterday.  We had a fantastic time and good weather all week apart from pink sheet lightening and heavy rain just hours before the ceremony.  The sunshine came out in the end and we had bright sunshine for the rest of the day.

Tamara and Mara were fantastic and very friendly.  They really fitted in with the happiness of the occasion and made sure that everything went to plan.  Tamara even managed to get a chemist to reopen so that I could buy some plasters for a very sore blister that I had on my foot from my wedding shoes - that is what I call service!

The ceremony words were so beautiful and appropriate for our relationship.  It was all about everything in our marriage being equal and for all decisions to be made together.  It was just beautiful!

The bouquet was better than I could have imagined.  The florist really picked a superb lily that was yellow and orange and matched my dress to perfection.

We can't wait to see the photographs taken by Mara.  She went to a great deal of trouble to set up each shot carefully and took us to some lovely locations.  We have a few photo's that were taken at the same time that look good, so I am sure the professional ones will be even better.  I have attached a couple for you to see.

Everyone that we came across on the day said auguri and clapped as we went under bridges when we took a gondola ride later on in the evening.  Venice is such a beautiful city with friendly people and was the perfect setting for our wedding.

Civil Wedding in Veneto and Honeymoon in Italy

Everything worked out fabulously! The weather was better than could be asked for. We had only one cloudy day in Florence. Other than the train strike on the 18th, (we were able to catch an IC to Rome) all went flawlessly.

Now I know why people gush about Ms. Tamara. She really put effort into making sure that all went well. I would like her e-mail and regular mail addresses, so that I may write to her. I think I would love to go back to Venice again for my next trip.

Our favourite cities would be Venice, then Rome, then and Florence. Our favourite hotels would be a tie between the ones in Rome and Florence and next the one in Venice. Our favourite guide was, of course Ms. Tamara, then the lady in Florence, then the lady in Rome. The masseuse was terrific!! February was a great time to go, because we encountered not a single line to any attraction. I can't wait to see the pictures!!!
