Destination Weddings in Bardolino

Bardolino, located on a particularly beautiful spot of the south eastern shore of Lake Garda, is loved by British, Germans and Italians alike.

The relaxing water views of this town where the crowds seem to be far away are complemented by a serene countryside and enchanting hills kissed by the afternoon sun where the famous dry and fruity red Bardolino wine is produced in a narrow strip of land eight miles long and two wide.

In late September a very popular wine festival takes place in Bardolino. While you stroll on the lake’s promenade you can sample the wine produced by the local wineries: Bardolino Classico, Bardolino Superiore and Bardolino Chiaretto, a rose’ wine. The flavor is comparable to the Valpolicellla, a well know Italian wine produced nearby in the Veneto region, north of Verona.

Fish from the lake, olive oil and wine from the hills are featured in the local restaurants and trattorias.

The centre of the town is medieval and Bardolino is graced by two ancient Romanesque churches San Zeno, dating from the eighth and ninth century and San Severo, dating from the ninth century.

Well worth a visit are two interesting museums, a wine museum and an oil museum, where the wine and olive oil making process from historic times to the present is shown.
