Special Features
The historical origins of the Castello can be traced to the 5th century, its present name and form being taken during the Renaissance. In fact, Leonardo da Vinci was a guest of the estate when he painted the Mona Lisa.
Wine has always been produced on the estate and the present owners, John and Paola Matta, are dedicated to maintaining this tradition started centuries ago. Several styles of wine are produced, ranging from the traditional to the innovative. To achieve this the estate's land has been rigorously classified according to soil type and exposition, and all wines carry their vineyard name.
