Unique characteristics of this Top Luxury Hotel
Perched high on a rock overbooking the blue waters of the Portofino Coast, surrounded by water on three sides and backed by a hill where luxuriant vegetation abounds, this top Luxury Hotel has come back to life after having been closed for more than twenty years.
As the first Italian Casino, located in a region where the weather is ideal, the Hotel became immediately a very popular hub for the rich and famous people of Europe.
George Byron, Guy de Maupassant, Alphonse de Lamartine were notorious guests.
Eleonora Duse, legendary theatre actress born in Lombardy, the Duke of Windsor and Wally Simpson, Rita Hayworth, Ernest Hemingway, kings Faruk and Hussein all enjoyed staying in this Hotel.
Towards the end of the Sixties this venue started declining and was closed.
Restored to the splendor of its past more than twenty years later, after extensive works of renovation, the Top Luxury Hotel is now again now the main attraction on the Portofino Coast.
