Weddings in Palaces

In the more densely populated areas and in all the major cities of Italy, the Italian nobility build their mansions, the famous Palazzi, for this reason we are able to offer you weddings in Palaces. To this day all important buildings are still called Palazzi even if less than a hundred years old and only the very wealthy live in them. So a Palace wedding is one of your options.

The cost of maintaining any buildings that are over two hundred years old can be staggering.

If you consider that in Venice the palaces had to be built on hundreds if not thousands of chestnut wood pilings that went into the sea bottom and that they are all still there today, sometimes after five hundred years or more, then the cost gets scary.

From time to time the high tide will sweep into the lobbies of these Venetian Palaces and then the only way to get out is by boat!

For this reason the local authorities use government funds as well as International ones to save Venice from sinking further.

In Florence and Rome and other important Italian cities the Palaces all take on names. So that you will have the word Palazzo combined with the name of the aristocratic family that built, lived and owned it for centuries. For example Palazzo Borghese is a well known landmark in Rome as is Palazzo Strozzi in Florence. Both Palazzi belonged to the two very well know noble Italian families: Borghese and Strozzi.

Many Palaces have marble plaques on their outside corners at the height of the beginning of the second floor. These plaques commemorate the visit, birth or place of residence of important people.

Italian Palaces are still homes for the very wealthy, city landmarks, museums and public buildings used to govern from and then also as hotels.

We use them for our clients so that they can have a wedding in Palace.
