How to use PayPal

Instruction on using PayPal for wedding in Italy:

For U.S. PayPal account holders, being Verified means you have added and confirmed a bank account, or have been otherwise Verified by PayPal. Because Verification increases the security of the PayPal network, you'll be able to do the following once you're Verified:

Lift your sending and withdrawal limits
Send payments instantly using a checking account
Become eligible for the Seller Protection Policy

Increase credibility with sellers and/or buyers (since being Verified means you have confirmed ownership of a bank account)

Non-U.S. members can also become Verified by completing their Expanded Use Enrollment. However, non-U.S. Verified members do not currently qualify for and are not covered by the Buyer Complaint Policy or the Seller Protection Policy.

How do I confirm my bank account?

When you register your U.S. bank account, PayPal makes two small deposits to your bank account, each for an amount between $0.01 USD and $0.99 USD. These deposits should post to your bank account within 2-3 business days. To find the amounts of the random deposits, you can look at your online account statement or contact your bank's customer service department.

Once you know the amounts of the deposits, log in to your PayPal account and click the Confirm Bank Account link on your Account Overview page to enter the amounts. If the amounts are correct, your bank account will be confirmed.

Note: Members registered from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and United Kingdom are no longer able to confirm their U.S. bank account.

How do I confirm my credit card and complete the Expanded Use Enrollment Process?

When a credit card is added to your account, you may be required to complete the Expanded Use Enrollment Process in which PayPal charges your credit card $1.95 U.S. Dollars. The charge will accompany a unique, randomly generated 4-digit Expanded Use Number.

If you have online access to your credit card account, check your statement online after 3-4 business days to view the Expanded Use Number

If you do not have online access or if your credit card issuer does not supply the Expanded Use Number online, you will need to wait for your credit card statement to view the Expanded Use Number

This is done in the interest of all PayPal members to maintain a secure online transaction environment

Once you have received your 4-digit Expanded Use Number, click https://www.paypal.com/MEM-NUMBER or copy and paste the entire link into the address bar to complete the Expanded Use Enrollment Process.
