Italian Lake Region

The Italian Lake Region has been well know since Roman times as a preferred vacation or wedding spot for those that seek something really exclusive and romantic.

The Italian Lakes are preferred over the Swiss lakes because of the difference in latitude and the particular micro climate that surrounds all of the northern lakes. In Italy the lakes are further south and have warmer water and weather than those in Switzerland.

It is so warm in the area adjacent to some of the lakes in northern Italy that the locals have been able to cultivate a particular type of lemons since ancient times. Although the ancients named one of the towns that rose up Limone sul Garda this is not related to the lemon trees, but to the elm trees found in the area.

In recent times the Italian Lakes Region has been so popular with couples seeking international weddings that now some that are planning their nuptials even prefer this wedding spot over the Amalfi Coast.

Weddings on water are very popular in Italy today and lake weddings in particular the “in” thing for couples seeking a wedding abroad.
