There are many times in the past when elopement was the only apparent alternative at an impasse with the parents of an Italian family. Often it was a matter of the cost for getting married. Among other things no one wanted to pay the bill for the wedding day or help with the costs to set up a new family. Then there was also the question of the dowry or bride price. Romantic love stories did not always necessarily end up as in Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet, but the drama certainly was not missing -  not in Italy.

Those that elope in this modern day and age are very few and we do not try to encourage elopement or condone it, but what we do offer is an opportunity for couples that intend on getting married in Italy the option of  “eloping” or getting away from it all.

Today couples look to elope from where they grew up and want to marry abroad in another continent and country and Europe is often their first choice in regards to wedding destinations.
